1979The Noronha-HNTB consortium is responsible for the structural and functional maintenance of the Bridge until 1995.

1995The Concessionária Ponte Rio-Niterói S.A., formed by the companies Camargo Corrêa and Andrade Gutierrez, begins managing the road as Companhia de Concessões Rodoviárias (CCE).

2000Dissemination of the high-speed broadband communication system known as Wi-Fi, which increases internet speed and usage.

2000The flexible asphalt pavement of the Central Span is replaced with rigid concrete pavement to reinforce the metallic structure and eliminate frequent maintenance.
