Managing the Rio-Niterói Bridge since June 2015, Ecovias Ponte is responsible for maintaining the 28.7-kilometer road system, which includes the bridge itself, the Praça Renascença underpass, and the connection to the Linha Vermelha (Red Line) and Avenida Portuária (Port Avenue).
Every day, 150,000 vehicles and over 400,000 people travel in both directions between Rio and Niterói. This flow is continuously monitored by 45 cameras, ensuring that medical and mechanical assistance teams can quickly respond to various incidents and restore traffic flow as efficiently as possible.
In terms of road safety, the concessionaire has made significant efforts to raise awareness among users. One of the most recent investments was the acquisition of an impact simulator equipped with virtual reality goggles. This allows drivers to experience the sensation of a crash caused by an illegal and dangerous overtaking maneuver, resulting in a head-on collision.
